Filters for 3D Printers

Professional 3D printer filters compatible with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) filters. Of equal build quality, manufactured with the same materials and specifications, at a lower cost than the originals.

Lower operational expenses

OEM-compatible 3D printer filters

One of the significant overhead costs of 3D printing services is the need for frequent filter replacement.

The constant drive for efficiency and competitiveness has led to the widespread use of compatible filters in the industrial sector—a practice that has long been standard in the automotive market.

Depurex filters are compatible with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) units; they offer identical build quality, utilizing the same materials and specifications, but at a lower cost than the originals.

Thanks to its flexibility, Depurex is able to offer filters manufactured without quality compromises, yet at a lower cost.

Leveraging our design expertise, in several cases we have developed alternative solutions that proved to be not only more cost-effective but also higher-performing than the original spare parts, as testified by one of our North American customers printing with a Colibrium Additive MLab 200R:

"As for the filter performance results, we made prints without reaching the full clogging capacity, to avoid damage. For now, we have tested with Inconel 625, but we cannot comment on other materials like stainless. The performance curve is not linear due to the clogging; however, we have a gain of 30% minimum which is considerable."

Polymer and metal powder 3D printing technologies are revolutionizing manufacturing, enabling the production of parts with mechanical and finish properties that would otherwise be unachievable.

Known as Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), Selective Laser Melting (SLM), or Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS), it is an additive manufacturing technology that uses a laser to fuse metal powders layer by layer, creating solid and complex components.

When using powders, filtration is a critical part of the printing process.

Density and Strength: Proper filtration and powder preparation directly impact the final density of the printed part. Well-filtered powders reduce porosity formation, enhancing the mechanical properties of the final product.

Surface and Precision: Proper powder distribution during printing contributes to a smoother surface finish and higher dimensional accuracy. This is particularly critical for applications requiring tight tolerances and fine details.

Post-Processing: Although Selective Laser Melting and Direct Metal Laser Sintering technologies produce parts with good surface characteristics, post-processing is often required to further improve the surface finish. The quality of the powder used can significantly influence these post-processing requirements.
